Resting in a restless city

Tomas Mutsaers and other students from the AKV St. Joost Breda traveled end of February two weeks to Metro Manila/Philippines.

Tomas documented sleeping people on the streets like drivers and salesmen, who often work about sixteen hours by having two consecutive shifts. He has captured these workers sleeping in their van, car, motorbike or even sometimes at the edge of the street. It’s an interesting series that gives insight into how public space is used in other cultures due to different life circumstances. This project was realized with help of the Beyond (Y)our World-project by Lokaalmondiaal.
